They came over for dinner. We had Coquilles Saint-Jacques à la nantaise (au naturel), scallops in scallop shells or ramekins with butter and shallots, canards en cassoulet (special cassoulet with duck and hot sausages. This was a dinner that came from Simone Beck's book, Simca's Cuisine, and is an "earthy dinner for high-spirited friends", a description I don't think we managed to live up to. We also had a green salad. And for dessert, baked apple with whipped cream. The Marilyn Monroe t-shirt Jon is wearing is one he just made. He said he is going to make me two t-shirts, one with Cathy on it, and another with Gertrude Stein on it.,Original entry title: Joy and Jon 3 3 74
