Description
We had been meaning to invite Vivian to dinner since she was here to interview Cathy (see entry: October 15, 1973). We made a Chinese dinner (they brought a very nice French wine). We had shrimp toast, lemon chicken, beef lo mein, and dry-fried string beans. All of the recipes came from Virginia Lee and Craig Claiborne's Chinese Cooking, except for dessert, steamed honey pears, which came from Gloria Bley Miller's article in Gourmet magazine.
