First thing in the morning Lieb and I went up to Cathy's (Catherine Murphy) with the Art Handlers, who were here to pick up Catherine's Painting Under the Table. We showed them where to set up and while they were wrapping the painting Lief and I boxed three working drawings for the to take as well. For the rest of the morning Lieb worked on the sound files for my China 1987 project. He went out to get all of us lunch at Haddad's. In the afternoon he did a few odds and ends as well as continued working on the sound files.]]>
With swollen face]]>
I had gotten two tick bites on different days last week. The ticks were large so i ruled out lime disease. I tried to get one out and after pinching my skin and making the spot more swollen I gave up. Cathy tried to get the second one out without much luck. Both areas got really red and I was getting dizzy and nauseous. So I called Dr. Murthy's office on Friday and they saw me the same day. I had clearly gotten something from the ticks, He asked me and I told him I didn't get bad reactions from this antibiotic. Well, I hadn't before now. My lips swelled up and my face near my nose and this morning my eyes felt wrong. I am going to call the doctor and see what he says. I am giving a talk on Wednesday at Vassar College and am not all that pleased with how I look.]]>
We ran into Bob and Nan at the gallery. They came to Hudson to go the Donna Dennis opening at Public Private Gallery, also in Hudson. We went to Donna's opening as well. Left to Right - Robert Taplin, Pamela Salisbury, Catherine Murphy, Nan Taplin. ]]>
On the way to Hudson we stopped at The Rhinebeck Artist's Shop to put Suzan Frecon's small painting on paper in to be framed. When we got to Hudson we went to Talbert and Arnig to buy a few things and then to Pamela Salisbury Gallery to see Elliot Green and Judith Pfaff's work. The to America's greatest Eye Glasses for me to pick out some glasses. We took up some extra time by going to antiques stores to look for some outdoor furniture to put into the new frame house sculpture in our yard. After that we went to Donna's opening. On the way home we went to Fortune in Tivoli to buy ice cream. We got lunch to go at bar restaurant, also in Tivoli. It tooke a while for our fish and chips to be done so I talked with the bar tender for a bit. It turned out that his name is Gerard Hurley and he had made a couple of films. Pest Tech sent Tom without enough poison to complete the job. They also change the nature of the poison without informing us. The original poison they used was pet safe. This one not so much.]]>
I had to come back from shopping this morning (see Lukas, same date, visitors and Fabio Rossi, Self-Portraits, same date). Because I had to com back suddenly from shopping we didn't have much food to offer Tim. We did, though, have Cornbread left over from Katie and Eneas' visit and all three of us had it for lunch.]]>

Rossi's opened its new location in the Eastdale Development in Poughkeepsie, NY in March 2022. I have been going there almost from when it opened. Fabio is one of the sons of the couple that first opened Rossi's in Poughkeepsie. This day all of the coolant leaked out of the station wagon on my way. I asked if anyone in the store had coolant in their car, they didn't. Fabio said he would go out and get some for me, which he so helpfully did. I called Ray at Al's garage and he said I should just put water in the radiator since I would probably loose it on my way to the gas station, I went bak in to Rossi's and Fabio gave me three quarts of water to put in the radiator. When I got to Al's the car as already starting to over heat. Lukas (see Lukas page in Visitors, same date as this one) took me home from Al's.]]>
They brought us some pastries from the Culinary Institute of America, as they had a number of times before.]]>
We also paid a bill for stuff he did for us, including building shelves in my studio. He also brought a sheet of louan he cut from some he had for Cathy (Murphy) for a new drawing she is about to start. She mounts the paper on the louan.]]>
He he dropped one at the garden near the house and the second in front of the Dutch Barn.]]>
We got to talking about Covid and he told me his wife had died from it and that she was in the hospital for a month before she died and he couldn't see he that whole time.]]>

The doctor commented and some spots I had on my face and forehead. he said He could free them off. I said OK. It did hurt when he sprayed my face. So now we will see. It is now about a week and a half later and they don't look all that good.]]>
They had a long session, four hours. So, Cathy made them and herself sandwiches for lunch. We had had a mushroom frittata for dinner the other night so she made sandwiches out of that. I made one the next day for my lunch. ]]>
I would have liked to also take self-portraits with Bob and Valerie who owned the store. Jo told me that they sold the store three years ago. This did explain why i<br />
I have not seen them for a while. he had worked at this store for 30 years. he also told me that he only found out they sold the store when someone other than Bob and Valerie told him it was sold.]]>
My finger wasn't broken. While there he noticed some spots on my forehead and cheek and asked if he should freeze them to get rid of them. I said OK. The freezing hurt more than I expected. What you see are the scabs from the freezing. They should fall off and the spots might be gone. Two weeks later they are somewhat lighter but still there. They may go away more in time. But it isn't a very big deal. The one on my forehead seemed to be more of an issue than the others.]]>

Today Lief spent most of the day working on the sound for Installment 12 of China 1987. I did a Zoom visit with Silvia (Rea Silvia Ferlozza). We worked together going over the sound and made decisions about what we had and where they might go. h and I ate lunch together.]]>

Bob and his wife Val owned he Arlington Liquor Store in Poughkeepsie. When I took was last in there and spoke with Joe, and took his photograph, he told me they sold the store about three years ago but still owned the building. That answered the fact that I hadn't seen either of them for quite some time. They had the store from 1983-2020. Some years ago Cathy and I bout a Dodge Dart from their son.
