In 2014 I had an exhibition of self-portraits getting my hair cut. This is a catch up photograph because Catherine now cuts my hair with an electric hair trimmer. My hair is now too thin to warrant a real haircut.]]>

This self-portrait is part of my local Business sub-category. I did a series of photographic installations in various places I frequented to do errands, which was also called Local Business. These self-portraits are the next incarnation of that project. The first one I did and the only one intact was done at Gladmore Cleaners. The photograph above our heads is a part of that installation. The installations consisted of photographs I did on site and were installed around the establishments without explanation or attribution.]]>
It turned out he had to put on a new cable outside. There were a few other jobs he needed to attend too. He left and got back here on time to finish the work. It was surprising to us that the company sent someone out on a Sunday]]>

Ben arrive at 10:00 AM. He did his regular chores first. next he put down Malorganite and leaves over the newly planted tulip bulbs. He spent the rest of the day organizing in my heated studio.]]>

We had arranged to meet Suzanne Joelson and Gary Stephan at Elena Sisto's (there were other shows opening in the gallery at the same time) opening at the Pamela Salisbury Gallery in Hudson NY. Then to go out to dinner. Suzanne called us to say that Dennis and Shelly were to take the same train up to Hudson for Elena's show. She suggested they join us for dinner, which we thought a very good idea. So we all had dinner together at Ca'Mea. we had a very good time. the food was only so so. For example, My restaurant made Gnocchi themselves were really good, but the sauce was insipid. Catherine's pasta in clam sauce was reasonably good but the clams were exceedingly tough.<br />

On Monday morning he went to work in NYC. He stayed over night on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and worked in the city those days. This is an installing job, which he works at every month or so. On Friday he worked here. He did a few things including working in Cathy's (Murphy) studio, doing a few errands, and helping me revamp the cats litter box. We had to leave here before he was to leave to get our flu shots. He called to tell us he had locked the key to the house in the house. Luckily he found a way to get in so we could get in as well when we came home.]]>

A had asked Tim to build me shelves in my studio. He is also trying to finish building a new house for him and Sue. In between Cathy (Murphy)m needed stretchers for two new paintings. This being more pressing, he built those ealrier. Today he came over to build the shelves in my studio. The space they went into was supposed to hold a Murphy bed when I thought I would actually have overnight guests in my studio. A terrible idea, which fortunately I never followed through on. He had lunch with me and Cathy and Ben Keddy. We brought in food from La Cabinita in Poughkeepsie.]]>
I put out a job description fo assistants for a person to work with me on my China 1984 film. One of the places I put the job description was Vassar College. Luca got in touch with me through the Susan Smith in the Career Development office. This photograph was taken over Zoom during the interview process. Luca graduated from Vassar College in 2021.]]>
Local Business - sub-category of Self-Portraits. Self-Portraits with people I interact with on a regular basis. Some of whom I have know for years. Debbie has been at Adams for 45 years. I have been shopping there for 42 years, so we have interacted for many years. She has worked in all of the departments except the Garden Center. For a number of years she has been in the candy department. Since I buy candy regularly I go to her department frequently.]]>
Ralph's new documentary film is about getting older (sometimes much older) and mortality. Catherine(Murphy) and I had a small part in it.]]>
I wrote up a job description to send places in order to find someone to assist me with the China 1987 film I am working on. I wrote to various people, including Brent Green. Brent is an artist in residence in Film and Electronic Arts at Bard College. I had never met Brent, but found his information on the Bard College website. He very nicely sent me some names of people he thought might be interested. Dwayne is a recently graduated from an undergraduate program at Bard. We met on this Zoom call and he will do something on the project as an audition for a part time job. I received a three year grant from Vassar College to help pay for some of this. I have been paying Jeff Halstead from the same grant.]]>
They washed the windows and screens and french doors in the house and cleaned the gutters and swept the roofs on the house and the barn. They also washed a small amount fo siding near the patio.n. Then they washed the windows in the Poustinia (small cottage in the back of the garden)]]>

In the am I went to Memorial Sloane Kettering in Westchester for a blood test. Then to the Volvo Dealership to have a key repaired.n. Then tyo the Krafted Cup to meet with Juojia Chen (a Vassar student) to meet about her interning with me on the China 1987 project.]]>
Tim built two stretchers for new paintings for Catherine. We We had coffee, Rob Hare joined us (see next Entry). Tim and I brought the stretchers up back to Catherine's studio. When we came down we asked Tim if he had a bill with him. In addition to the stretchers Tim had done many jobs for us over many months and hadn't gotten around to billing us. So we paid the bill and are even for now..]]>
Catherine (Murphy) and Tim Liefer and myself were having coffee, we asked Rob if he would like some. He brought his own coffee in and sat with us for a bit before heading up back to work.]]>
