I am pretty sure the demarcations are in 5 year increments, so at each event the celebration would be for five years, ten years, fifteen years, etc of working at Vassar. The thing I like about this event, it is one of the rare times at Vassar when there is an event that crosses over all kinds of employees, staff, buildings and grounds, administrators, and faculty members. This event coincided with my being at Vassar for 35 years. Depending on how long you've been at Vassar you get to pick from an assortment of gifts I picked out a pair of binoculars that had a built in camera. It is now almost a year since this event and I haven't used it yet. It was the only thing that I could even contemplate picking.
