We were going up to Joy Taylor's opening and asked Ralph and Elisabeth if they would like to join us and then go out for dinner. Elisabeth was leaving for France that Wednesday to deliver a paper, which wasn't quite done. We suggested just meeting for dinner, so she could work longer. We decided to meet at the Flat Iron restaurant in Red Hook. It turned out to be Elisabeth's birthday. Ralph had gotten back from a trip to Isreal a few days before. And we were interested to hear about the trip. We brought Elisabeth a present, and they treated us to dinner.]]>
