Each student invites their favorite professor (or sometimes more than one) to this event. Sometime I would be invited and sometimes not. This year the invitation was opened to all of the faculty, invited by students or not. I preferred it the other way. I was invited this year by Luke Stern. I told Cappy (Catherine Bond Hill) about my preference and she told me the change was requested by the students. I don't know if this meant all of the students or ten of them. Anyway, that's the story. The party was at Alumnae House. Some of the students were particularly dressed up because there was a formal dance following this party. See the previous entry.
