The Exhibit was called, The Uncanny Valley and we knew a few people that were in the show. We were having dinner at the Main Course (or at leas waiting for dinner) and we were whining about how long it was taking for dinner to arrive at the table. The people at the next table were having the same issues. So we all complained to each other and that started a conversation. We hadn't known Harry and Tamar before. It turns out that they were at the Dorsky as well and that Harry Wilks was in the exhibition.</text>

Our close friend, Joyce Robins, was one of the seven painters. The other people in the show were Riley Brewster, Denzil Hurley, John Obuck, Nathlie Provosty, Rebecca Purdum, and Andrew Spence. Robert Storr curated the show. We got to Chelsea in the morning and saw the Dana Schutz show, the James Siena shows, and a couple of others. We had lunch at Bottino's. We were hoping to have time to go to Dawn Clements' memorial service at Pierogis before getting to Joyce's opening. When we stopped by Pierogis, the memorial service had already started, and the gallery was jammed with chairs that were jammed with people. So we headed straight to Joyce's show. <text>We planned the day around getting to the opening at The Milton Resnick and Pat Passlof Foundation: "Doing What Comes Naturally, Seven Painters in Their Prime." Our close friend, Joyce Robins, was one of the seven painters. See the previous entry.</text>

First, I dropped Eugene off at his friend's house (Margret Callus). Then I went to Sacha and Olivier's to get a haircut. I had time for lunch at Mission Chinese (well, sort of, 15 minutes makes for rather fast eating). I then went for my appointment with Lesley Heller. I met up with Eugene and Monroe (Eugene met Monroe for lunch before going to the Morgan Library) at the Morgan Library. Coincidently Peter and Shawn came into the gallery. On our way out of the city, Eugene and I stopped at the Stiebel Gallery to pick up a Fred Sanback print that Eugene had bought. But no one was there.</text>
