Earlier in the day, there was an intense rainstorm with flooding, and some of the streets in Manhattan were blocked off. Sylvia had called to tell us that the openings and dinner might be canceled. So, we didn't leave as early as we might have. That and the traffic are the reasons we didn't get to Sylvia's opening. See the previous entry.
