Self-Portraits- Local Business]]>
During the winter I called Alex Stathedis. For a number of years whenever we needed to have a paint job done we Called Alex because he did such a good job. Since I knew he retired I called to see if he could recommend someone. He recommended Paul and said he was an excellent painter. I called Paul soon after I spoke with Alex and we made a general date foe him to come over when it got warmer to have a look. I called him that morning and he came by a bit later.]]>

First he did a few regular chores. Then he worked on the cassette tapes from China and matched up the list of tapes with the digitized files to see what might be missing. He swept out the small cottage. I had to leave early to go to a reception for newly retired faculty at Vassar and to a talk by the artist Donna Nelson,. After I left Lieb worked on the sound for Installment 12 of China 1987. The hand moves in the photograph was Lieb demonstrating the problem he is having with his jaw.]]>

First thing in the morning Lieb and I went up to Cathy's (Catherine Murphy) with the Art Handlers, who were here to pick up Catherine's Painting Under the Table. We showed them where to set up and while they were wrapping the painting Lief and I boxed three working drawings for the to take as well. For the rest of the morning Lieb worked on the sound files for my China 1987 project. He went out to get all of us lunch at Haddad's. In the afternoon he did a few odds and ends as well as continued working on the sound files.]]>
With swollen face]]>
I had gotten two tick bites on different days last week. The ticks were large so i ruled out lime disease. I tried to get one out and after pinching my skin and making the spot more swollen I gave up. Cathy tried to get the second one out without much luck. Both areas got really red and I was getting dizzy and nauseous. So I called Dr. Murthy's office on Friday and they saw me the same day. I had clearly gotten something from the ticks, He asked me and I told him I didn't get bad reactions from this antibiotic. Well, I hadn't before now. My lips swelled up and my face near my nose and this morning my eyes felt wrong. I am going to call the doctor and see what he says. I am giving a talk on Wednesday at Vassar College and am not all that pleased with how I look.]]>
