Tim finished painting the wall that was damaged in the apartment.]]> Tim came over to do a couple of things. He primed the wall in Alec Levinson's apartment(the Apartment). We had a BBQ lunch (see next entry - Simone Totsky). Before lunch he packed the trash that was still in back of my summer studio to bring home to his dumpster. After lunch he worked with Simone and me reinstalling some of the sculptures the SS that were not done as yet after the exterminators came to treat the studio for powder post beatles and carpenter ants.]]> Tim came by for coffee and so I could tell him about our trip to Sweden.]]> I have no idea why Tim came over.]]> We called Tim with a minor emergency. Catherine's (Murphy) new painting, "Flight"? was set up in a way that blocked getting to one side of the studio as well as making it impossible to maneuver the painting. So Tim came over and took the newel post off the balustrade. We also had coffee.]]> I was at Tim's shop yesterday and he realized he needed to measure something from the last sculpture for the one we are working on now. He came over early this morning to measure it. We also had a cup of coffee.]]> I was at Tim's shop yesterday and after I left he realized he needed to measure something on the last sculpture for the one we are working on now. So he came over to do that and we ha a cup of coffee and I gave him a check]]> Tim called yesterday and said he was coming by for a cup of coffee on Tuesday. He brought a lemon poppy cake from Bread Alone. Tim and I both had small pieces of it with our coffee.]]> Tim came to modify the facsimile of our patio that he built in Catherine's (Murphy) studio. The facsimile is for a painting Catherine is going to start soon. He cut off 3 feet from the back end and with a lever pushed the structure back to the balustrade. He did this by himself and rather speedily. We thought he would need another person and that it would take longer.]]> Catherine (Murphy) needed a support bearing post taken down in her studio in the house. She had started a painting and hadn't realized that the post made it impossible to understand the shadow that the headboard for the rebuilt bed was casting. the rebuilt bed was made by Tim to replicate our bed in the other room (though it was shorter). First he built a protective structure over the bed so that the set up of the pillows and sheet wouldn't get disturbed by anything falling from the ceiling. Tim then put a new beam in the attic and attached it to the sides of the room. Then he moved the beam that was adjacent to the bed setup a bit further out. He then built a support for the ceiling against the wall and removed the beam altogether. When the painting is done he will put the beam back where it was. This job took real finesse. Tim cdid it beautifully.]]> The door to Catherine's (Murphy) studio in the house was broken. The nails had pulled out of the frame so the door wan't working very well. Catherine needed to close the door when she wasn't painting so that Toni (the cat) couldn't get in when she wasn't working. Tim had to shorten the door a smidgy and re-attach a hinge. When he was finished we had coffee and cookies and visited.]]> While hereI I asked him if he could make a replica of the birdhouse that was on the pole but got smashed when a tree fell on it. Which was Cathy's (idea). He said told me that when he repaired the original birdhouse he liked it so much he made a copy of it. He had installed it in his garden but house wrens moved in and caused havoc so he took it down and eventually it wound up in his garage. He had planned to surprise us and install it on top of the new pole, as a present. So, since I won't be able to be surprised he is going to install it and it will be a surprise for Cathy. i can't wait for this to happen. I forgot to take his photograph.]]> During the bad early June storm, in addition to a number of trees, the pole that holds the electrical wires from the house on the way to the well was cracked and knocked over. Tim said he was tired of waiting for someone to come up with one so he got a locust tree and cut it down himself. This day he put it up. It was very heavy so he dug a trench with a horizontal ditch and tipped it in. Since the soil is loose he will have to redig it a bit and pour in concrete.]]> When he finished for the day. I made us both sandwiches and we ate lunch together. Talked a lot about our fathers.]]> Catherine is about ready to start a new painting of a three windowed door that Tim installed in part of the entrance to her studio. When she looks out the windows some of the the tops of the views are blocked by the overhang outside the door. Tim may have to take it apart and rebuild it. He built it in the first place, unfortunately for this moment, he built it to last.]]> A had asked Tim to build me shelves in my studio. He is also trying to finish building a new house for him and Sue. In between Cathy (Murphy)m needed stretchers for two new paintings. This being more pressing, he built those ealrier. Today he came over to build the shelves in my studio. The space they went into was supposed to hold a Murphy bed when I thought I would actually have overnight guests in my studio. A terrible idea, which fortunately I never followed through on. He had lunch with me and Cathy and Ben Keddy. We brought in food from La Cabinita in Poughkeepsie.]]> Catherine was setting up for a new drawing and needed a stair cut and slightly remade to clear a bit of room for the set up.]]> I had to come back from shopping this morning (see Lukas, same date, visitors and Fabio Rossi, Self-Portraits, same date). Because I had to com back suddenly from shopping we didn't have much food to offer Tim. We did, though, have Cornbread left over from Katie and Eneas' visit and all three of us had it for lunch.]]> Tim built two stretchers for new paintings for Catherine. We We had coffee, Rob Hare joined us (see next Entry). Tim and I brought the stretchers up back to Catherine's studio. When we came down we asked Tim if he had a bill with him. In addition to the stretchers Tim had done many jobs for us over many months and hadn't gotten around to billing us. So we paid the bill and are even for now..]]> 2015-6-16, Tuesday, Tim Liefer and Dan Scharff came over for Dan to see the final state of the addition.]]> 2013-1-7 January 7, 2013, Tim and Dana worked on the porch]]> 2014-9-29, Monday, Tim and Dana worked on the roof over the kitchen and back room]]> 2014-10-29, Wednesday, Tim Liefer and Dana Kilgore worked on the new addition]]> 2014-9-26, Friday, Tim Liefer and Dana Kilgore worked on re-roofing above the kitchen and back room.]]> 2014-9-25, Thursday, Tim Liefer and Dana Kilgore worked on the shower in our new addition.]]> 2014-9-24, Wednesday, Tim and Dana worked on the roof over the kitchen and the back room. The focus shifted to manual and I didn't notice it.]]> 2014-9-22, Monday. Tim and Dana came to work on the new addition. They are having their morning coffee. I have recently gotten a coffee that is now my favorite and Tim and Dana also seem to like very much. It is Yirgachaffe, a coffee from Ethiopia.]]> 2015-9-6, Sunday, Tim Liefer came over with his dog. Toni our cat ws not very relaxed about the dog being on the patio.]]> 2015-10-(15)16, (Thursday) Friday, Tim Liefer came over to extend the heat tapes on the roof over the kitchen and to put up heat tapes on the apartment's porch roof. Jerry Kindig did a few things here and was to bring two plants to Greystone Greenhouses in Sharon, CT to winter over. Tim helped Jerry load the plants in the station wagon. I couldn't get in touch with anyone at Greystone and sent Jerry anyway. No one was there when he arrived so he had to bring the plants back. Jerry also came to work yesterday but I forgot to take his photograph.]]> They worked on the space under the apartment. This area was damaged by Alec Levinson's (The Tenant) bathtub leaking. I was working in my studio and heard what sounded like a waterfall. I went up to Ale4c's apartment to check and asked if anything was leaking. He didn't think so but did say when he took a bath he had to keep refilling the tub as he bathed.]]>
]]> They set it up and Tim moved moved the outlet and put it through the bottom of the house. We put Toni in it, but she didn't stay very long and so far on Saturday she doesn't seem to want to stay in it very long. My guess is, that when it gets colder she willo be more patient with it. They came in for Tea, coffee, and cookies.]]> Time wanted to know if he could buy back the patio stones that he had gotten for us for Catherine's (Murphy) painting, "Kitchen Door". They have been sitting outside of Cathy's studio since that painting was finished. We were up back in Cathy's studio when they arrived so thy looked at her two new paintings she had recently finished He took about half the stones and will come back for the rest another day.]]> April 9, 2023, Easter Sunday. 1]]> Left to Right - Trevor Liefer (Tim's son), Juliette Liefer (Trevor's wife), Thomas McCormack (Sue's son), Aimee Rancer, Jonathan McCormack (Sue's other son)]]> April 9, 2023, Easter Sunday. 2]]> We visited and they wanted our opinions about where to install the artwork they had. left to Right, Catherine Murphy, Sue Cross, Tim Liefer.]]>
