Simon worked.]]> After his usual chores Simon worked in the downstairs of the Dutch Barn, rolling up hardware fencing and putting it out to the side of the barn. Simon and I had lunch together (Cathy [Murphy] brought her lunch up to her studio). Next Simon did an errand at Adam's Fair acre Farm. Now we are typing these words.]]> When Simon got here Catherine (Murphy) was upstairs and i was over in my studio. He did his initial chores thinking that we were still sleeping (which would have been a total anomaly). When I realized Simon was here I came across to the house. We (Catherine and I) kept changing our minds about what Simon should do next, because of the weather. Simon went out back with Catherine to her studio and replaced some of the grass for the painting, "Head to Toe". Simon and I had lunch, after which Simon did a reconnaissance to find any Rustoleum paint that we might still have because if it's not raining (like it is today), Simon will start painting the lawn chairs. We then started what we are doing now, which is putting data on this site. Even though I am talking to you in the present, of course at some point I will be dead and talking to you in the future or could that be in the past.]]> Simon picked up a quart of milk on the way here and then did his usual things when he first gets here. First he sprayed anti deer solution on some of the plants in the garden. Did some errands, after which he worked with me straightening out my studio. At the present moment, I am dictating what you are reading. As you can see from the photograph, Simon is sitting behind my desk in the office area of the backroom off the kitchen. It has been at least a year since this space was usable because of piles of papers and cds. I spent the last week putting this space in order. I hate doing that, but am very pleased that we don't have to sit in the kitchen or dining room or porch to work on the computer (hopefully for sometime to come).]]> Simon did various things at work.]]> I was out doing errands when Simon arrived. He called me and I gave him instructions to paint the arms of the new chair we bought in Hudson yesterday. We had lunch and then Simon painted the window sills on the coop building and I and he installed two panes of glass.nWe started to pick axe a mound in front of the coop so that another car could park there for our party on August 18th. I left Simon working on that and I am now writing this. Now here we are talking to you.]]> On his way to work this morning, Simon went to Catskill Art & Office and Davie's Hardware to pick up supplies. Then after some regular chores, Simon and I went up to Catherine's (Murphy) studio to take down a theatrical light because the bulb has blown. It is now after lunch and we are working on what you are reading. Then Simon and I will try to do something for Catherine. Then we will work on my site some more and put something on Facebook and Instagram. After which Simon and Catherine will go on the internet to order some clothes for a model.]]> Simon did the usual things he does first when he arrives. He repositioned the surveillance cameras for Catherine's (Murphy) drawing. We are working on the site for a little while, then I am off to the doctors. While i am gone Simon and Catherine will work on the camera positioning. Then Simon and I will get back onto the site.]]> When Simon first got here he did a lot of sanding since the driveway was pure ice. After which he went to Catskill Art and Office to get Turpentine for Catherine (Murphy) when he got back Simon and I had lunch. Catherine made curry tunafish. Then Simon sanded again for a while he drove Elisa Torres (see last entry) home. She had walked here and it seemed awfully cold to us. Now Simon and I are working on the website. First we tried to record my working in photoshop on China 1987: Not a Film, which worked out fine. Right now I am talking and Simon is typing.]]> Simon also came to work on Friday, February 2nd, but i forgot to take his photograph. He went to Home depot and bought Astro Turf in order for Catherine (Murphy) to start sketches for a new painting. The model for this painting is coming on Thursday. We set up the table for a Dinner on Saturday. He also took photographs for a new sighting of one of the surveillance cameras outside. Today Simon came a over a little later this morning and helped us finish cleaning up from dinner last night (see last entry). Then we had lunch and brought the large table back to the garage, and brought back in the regular dining room table. Simon moved the surveillance camera to the new place and now we are working on the site.]]> That Evening I planned to go to a screening of three short films presented of Anton Vidokle's, "Citizens of the Cosmos". Molly Nesbit had invited Vidokle as a Claflin speaker to give a lecture the following night. Because of the screening Cathy (Murphy) and i were going to eat our dinner very early, so i asked Simon to come at 9:30 instead of 10am. There was a traffic accident around the corner so Simon got delayed until 9:45. Because Cathy had an appointment with Stacy and Elisa (see next entry) Simon went out to get us all lunch at Popeyes. Simon and I spent most of the afternoon working on the website.]]> Simon brought down a big roll of paper from Catherine's (Murphy) studio, in preparation for her drawing of the surveillance monitor. He also worked with her on the monitor itself. In the afternoon Simon and I worked on the China 1987, Not A Film, for my chronicle website.]]> Simon came to work. The idea was to have Simon and Tim Liefer here at the same time (see last entry), so we could continue hanging the sculptures back up in the summer studio. Simon did some shoveling, did the trash, brought the barrel down to the curb, nWe all (Tim, Simon, Catherine and me),had a special lunch. When Catherine(Murphy) and I were in the city yesterday we stopped at Hill Country and bought BBQ chicken,ribs and brisket. We had that for lunch today along with potato salad and cole slaw from Adams Fairacre Farm. In the afternoon Tim, Simon and I reinstalled sculpture. Tim also gathered up all of the trach that was left over outside the summer studio from the exterminator's visit and took it home to his dumpster. After Tim left, Simon and I continued in there studio for a while and then left for school to cut a piece of wood to mount paper on for Catherine's new drawing. When we got home Catherine realized it was too small so we'll have to get some new wood to make a larger mount. He did some of his chores and then Simon and me and Catherine (Murphy) went up to Catherine's studio to fix the seat on one of her chairs. Then we went over to the dutch barn and organized the summer outdoor furniture. We had an early lunch before starting to work on the site. When Kallie got here at 1:00pm the three of us worked, are working, on the site so that Kallie could get a beginning idea of how it worked. First we're going back over to the dutch barn so Simon and Kallie could vacuum and straighten up the studio. When that is done Kallie and Simon are going to remove the air conditioner to the bedroom, put down some storm windows, and that should be all we have time for.]]> I had to be at school by 9:30 am this morning, so Simon very nicely agreed to come to work at 8:30 am. I wanted to have some time before I left for school to show him some ins and outs for a model he was going to make. After I left for school Simon did various things, but I wasn't home, so I did not witness them. I got home from school at about 3:35 PM. Simon and I went to the Dutch Barn to continue setting up my sculpture models. We had gotten a new table last week. Simon showed me the new digging he did for the water line from the well to the house, which was fine. While I went over some things for school, Simon worked in the basement. Now we are sitting on the porch and typing what you are reading.]]> Simon got here early (9:00 am, his usual time is 10:00 am.) It was supposed to be sunny and the earlier time enables Simon to set up Catherine's (Murphy) painting when I am at school. It turned out not to be reliably sunny, so the painting wasn't set up. Simon had to come to school to pick up a bag of tomatoes that I accidentally brought with me. Then he went to the supermarket to get various things and to pick up Singapore noodles for Catherine for dinner tomorrow when I am at a critique. He also got lunch for himself at the Chinese restaurant. After moving a new table to the Dutch Barn he resumed digging a hole near the house to try and find the water pipe. Our water pressure is terrible and John from Sterling Pump thinks he found a blockage. When Simon locates the line we are going to look for the place where the plastic hose is connected to a metal line. When he got here he did his regular morning routine, after which he helped Cathy set up. When he was done with that we did my self portrait and this photograph and now we are working on this site. From time to time Cathy (Murphy) will call Simon to help move her painting, when Simon isn't here I help Cathy setting up. After lunch Simon will help Cathy set up for her afternoon painting (Camo). After that he switched stools for, hopefully, one more comfortable for Cathy's (Murphy) afternoon painting. Simon went off to Kentucky fried chicken to get the new special for our lunches, but the one in Poughkeepsie didn't have it, so he went and got us lunch at Wendy's. In the afternoon he went to home depot to get Cathy a tarp for one of her setups and while there he bought some plastic for covering my sculptures and new drill which we needed desperately. He put stakes in the ground by the stool for Cathy's painting (temporary title: Camo). Then he cleaned out the back of the volvo. We are now working on this site. Soon we will be having lunch and possibly spending much of the afternoon working on this site. n_]]> After he first got here Simon and I worked on a few things together. We picked up the station wagon from Al's. After lunch we brought the two lawn mowers to Adam's to see about having them fixed. The Toro was not fixable, so I bought a new one. The other one we left for repairs. Simon re-fixed the screening to cover the Pails for Cathy's painting. In the afternoon even though it was insanely hot, Simon and I mowed the path through the woods, which was way overdue. When he got back and put the groceries away, he sprayed the Hostas against deer. Soon after we had lunch. He then straightened out some of my stuff in my Dutch Barn studio. He helped Cathy (Catherine Murphy) set up for a new painting by the pond. After that he posed for the painting (pictured in this entrry).]]> Simon got to work an hour early so i could give him my credit card to go out and do some errands for us. During the morning he worked with Cathy (Catherine Murphy) setting up for a new painting of buckets and reflections. He ordered some more buckets online. He then posed for drawings for another new painting of Cathy's. Before he went home he ordered a Mannequin that will sometimes be posed for the painting that will sometimes be Simon.]]> Simon came to work.]]> Simon came to work.]]> After Simon did his regular morning routine, he swept Cathy's (Murphy) studio (in house) to get ready for the art handlers to pick up and wrap up Catherine's (Murphy) painting to bring down to the Peter Freeman Gallery. After that Simon took out all of the chairs from the Dutch barn to put around the property so that they wouldn't be in the way for when Al came to photograph the sculpture on the 17th.]]> Simon did his regular chores, went to pick up pizza for all of our lunches (see entry after next), Darren, Simon and I walked in the woods to see if fallen trees had to be dealt with.
