2009-07-01 Jason Cranston, Tuesday. Jason came over to confer with me about the patio. I was rather upset with the crew yesterdat because they scraped the top of a few large roots from the large Douglas Fir that i situation in the patio. We decided that the digging couldn't go as deep as we had originally planned and that the rst of the dirt soil preparation needed to be done by hand. I was pretty cranky anout the roots. We also are going to look into using granite instead of blusestone, so we could still have large pieces, but thinner.]]> 2009-07-01 Tim Liefer, Wednesday. Tim came over to consult with us about the patio. Mike DiGiacomio came over yesteday morning (I forgot to take his photograph) to concult about the pine tree, because Jason Cranston's guys rubbed bark off some large roots of the huge Douglas Fir and I was nervous about the damage. So we wanted to know if Tim had any specific ideas about hoew we night porceed. After talking with Mike and then Tim we decided we would still go with stone. The rest of the digging will have to be by hand - no more machine diging, not dug as deep, have a shallower layer of gravel and possibly go wit granote (which can be thinner without cracking) instead of bluestone. Jason came over later that day and we went over all of this with him. See next entry.]]> 2009-06-30 Jason and his Crew, Tuesday. L-R, Stephan, Ryan, Gary, Jason Cranston. They came over on their way up to their house in Bangall. I was talking on the phone with Jon yesterday and he told me that Doria (their daughter) and her boyfriend had looked at my site for four hours and got a kick out of following Jon and joy over the years, taking note of Joys array of hair styles. We had appetizers at the pond. Jon was telling the story of Doria and her boyfriend looking at the site (this time the hours had shrunk to two), of how Doria went on and on about the captions, Jon and Joy coming over to feed the cats, us getting home early and making dinner for Jon and Joy, Jon coming over to get keys and Cathy made him a sandwich, Jon having a piece of cake, she was wondering if I had meant to be funny. Though she did think that the site was an amazing document. Did Jonathan actually use the word amazing - I can't be sure? Then we went on about me writing in this entry about Jon not liking rhubarb, but having two slices of the rhubarb tart. The chicken did come out great and Jon asked for the recipe the next day.]]> 2009-06-12 Mary Catherine Halfpenny, Friday.
