Pattie Fagen is the curator who is handling a show of my drawings at the Lehman Loeb Art Center at Vassar College. She came over to look through the work so we could start working out what would be in the exhibition. The exhibition will be from about the middle of June into a week or two of September 2020. After the studio visit we, Pattie, Catherine (Murphy) and O had cookies and tea in the house.]]> Patrick from Bottini Fuel came to service the two boilers and the water softener. Down in the basement we had an old dirty motor and he asked if I was going to keep it for something and I said ""no I'll be happy to get rid of it, and you want it? that's great."" Luckily, Benjamin Busch (see visitors 02/17/17) arrived while Patrick was still here because the motor was extremely heavy and Ben carried it out to Patrick's truck. I was grateful to Patrick for pointing out that the boiler in the studio building didn't have an air filter and we needed to get one.]]> Alec Levinson ( our tenant) had called to tell me that his boiler wasn't working. Patrick from Bottini Oil came and fixed it.]]> 2013-7-25- L-R, Patrick Healy and Aaron Lockhart picked up Catherine Murphy's paintings for her exhibition at The Kleinert/James Art Center, Woodstock, NY]]> From Davis, CA, we headed to Napa City, to Stephen and Patti's house. Stephen runs the Ox Bow School, and Patti is a chef (worked at the beginning with Alice Waters) and illustrator. We arrived around lunchtime and Patti served us lunch (homemade pizza, broccoli raab with prosciutto). We visited, and Stephen took me on a tour of the Ox Bow School. In the evening, Patti made dinner for everyone. For the first course, we had crab salad on endive leaves. For the main, we had West coast halibut, root vegetables, and a raita sauce, consisting of yogurt, dill, cilantro, and ginger (which was amazing). Daniel, Catherine, and I spent the night. In the morning, Daniel left early to go to Marta's (Renzi) sister's house. Patti made us a lovely breakfast of poached eggs. After breakfast, we left for San Francisco.]]> 1975-12-06 (roll date, image #s 18&20), Paul N, Gil Einstein]]> 1991-06-21 (roll date, image #8), Two electricians who came to do some work for us.]]> 2008-02-18 Paul from Paragon Gas, . He recommended Paul and said he was an excellent painter. I called Paul soon after I spoke with Alex and we made a general date foe him to come over when it got warmer to have a look. Cathy got in touch with him, and when the details were worked out, he gave her the name of a good printer in New York (Martha's printer is in Philadelphia and anyway will be away for a year). Paul Narkiewicz is the printer that Gil recommended, so Cathy and I went to see him. He came over today to bring Cathy a Lithography stone. We stayed at the Rittenhouse Hotel and had dinner the first night with Sid Sachs at Scarpetta's in the hotel. The next morning we were due at PAFA at 10:30 to get ready for Cathy's talk at 11:45. We got there late, but it didn't matter all that much. I had to resize all of Cathy's images because it overlapped the screen. Josh Marsh and Chie Fueke came to the talk. They live about an hour from Philadelphia. Clint is the dean of the school. See the previous six entries.]]> After Catherine's (Catherine Murphy) talk, various people came up to talk to her. Josh wanted to introduce us to his former student at PAFA. Catherine is sitting but is not visible. Then we met up at Didier's studio, after which we headed off to dinner at the Jamaican Jerk Hut restaurant. The food was terrific. We were all very noisy and had a terrific time. See the previous four entries and the following two entries.]]> As I said in the last entry, we were all very noisy during dinner. Noisy enough that someone we knew at the next table surmised (by some of the things we were saying) that we were artists and that there was a connection to PAFA. So, she started talking to us, and we were talking to her, and it turned out to be Karyn Olivier, who had come to Vassar as a visiting artist about ten years ago. Both Catherine and I were very taken with her work and her talk at that time. So, we were all excited to see each other. She didn't know Didier or Kelly before then. But she was really pleased to meet them. Coincidentally, it was Lisa Collins (a colleague at Vassar) who had suggested that we invite Karen to come speak. And Lisa was also one of Kelly Morgan's readers for her thesis. See the previous entry and the following five entries.]]> We got to PAFA after 11 on Thursday. We would have gotten there a little earlier, but we got lost again. Unfortunately, I fixed the sizes ahead of time so they wouldn't overlap the screen, but I made them all too small. Anyway, I gave my talk, and it went reasonably well. Before heading home, we had lunch at the school cafe next door. Josh and Chie, who came back again to attend my talk, also came to lunch with us.
