The Outside Visiting Committee for the Art Department had meetings and interviews on Thursday and Friday. They met with the Acting Dean and Acting President, a number of committees, as well as all of the faculty from the Art Department. It is required that programs in colleges and universities, on some schedule, get evaluated from the outside for accredidation. My appointment with the committee was Friday morning at 11:15.]]>

We met Tom and Joyce for dinner at Palace Dumpling and then went to the Galleria Mall to see Silver Linings Playbook.]]>
Billy called that morning to see if Cathy and I could meet for lunch at the Palace dumpling. We said we could. Simon was here working, so when we left, he worked on recording phone messages for this site. Palace Dumpling never served ice cream before. They had two kinds, green tea ice cream and black sesame seed ice cream, which they got from an ice cream place near where Cathy and I live. The food was, as always, very good, and the ice cream was a wonderful surprise.]]>
We had arranged to meet at Palace Dumpling for dinner. The expected snow storm started as we left for the restaurant. When we left to go home, it had not amounted to much.]]>
Joe and Jennie own Palace Dumpling. Jennie does most of the cooking. Lulu, Jennie's daughter, very recently arrived from China, from Harbin. They have been working on a visa for her to come to the Unites States for eight years. Palace Dumpling is a wonderful restaurant.]]>
The four of us went to Palace Dumpling for dinner after Marta and Daniel's visit to our house (See visitors 07/22/16)]]>
We went out to dinner for Catherine's (Murphy) birthday. We ordered way too much food, so we sent some home with Joyce for Tom (who wasn't up for coming). Judy picked up the cake I had ordered from The Village TeaRoom & Bake Shop in New Paltz. The cake I ordered was WAY too big. So at the end of dinner, when we had cake, I asked the people at the table behind us if they wanted some. And they said "Great! We are having a birthday as well". Then, I gave some cake to the people who own the restaurant. And then I gave some cake to two women at another table, one of whom is pictured behind Ben Keddy's head. That was everyone in the restaurant... and we still had cake left! See next four entries.]]>
