I was talking on the phone with Jon yesterday and he told me that Doria (their daughter) and her boyfriend had looked at my site for four hours and got a kick out of following Jon and joy over the years, taking note of Joys array of hair styles. We had appetizers at the pond. Jon was telling the story of Doria and her boyfriend looking at the site (this time the hours had shrunk to two), of how Doria went on and on about the captions, Jon and Joy coming over to feed the cats, us getting home early and making dinner for Jon and Joy, Jon coming over to get keys and Cathy made him a sandwich, Jon having a piece of cake, she was wondering if I had meant to be funny. Though she did think that the site was an amazing document. Did Jonathan actually use the word amazing - I can't be sure? Then we went on about me writing in this entry about Jon not liking rhubarb, but having two slices of the rhubarb tart. The chicken did come out great and Jon asked for the recipe the next day.</dcterms:description>

At that time, the students at Skowhegan were comprised of undergraduate art students between their junior and senior years. The schools that they attended suggested that they go to Skowhegan. The year after Skowhegan, Jonathan became an MFA student at Pratt. We saw him very frequently during his first year at Pratt when Cathy and I were still living on Myrtle Avenue. By 1971, Cathy and I were living in Jersey City, while Jon and Joy were either living in Jersey City or had moved to Hoboken ----This was the first photograph I took for the "Visitors" project. Jon was over visiting when I took his photograph. Then it struck me at that moment that I would photograph everyone who came to visit. The project soon expanded to include everyone who came over, no matter the reason. Later on, when we lived in houses instead of apartments, "everyone who came over" began to include everyone who came on the property of where we lived, without necessarily coming into the house. Then it occurred to me that it seemed reasonable to have a 24-hour rule. If someone came over and left and came back within 24 hours, there would still be one entry. If they stayed overnight, there would still only be one entry. If that person or people came over seven different days, even in one week, there would be seven entries. His wife is a journalist and was on location in Jerusalem at the time of our visit. Axel works in technology. After visiting for a while, we sat down for lunch. Jordi made us vegetable lasagna, and his son Axel made carrot salad. We brought a Princess Cake for dessert. I had read about these before we left for Sweden and wanted to taste it. Jordi insisted we take the remaining half with us. So we brought it to Richard Galloway's. There was also a selection of flatbreads, one made locally. We visited both of Jordi's studios, and he very generously gave us some prints. We mailed them home from the hotel in Stockholm. At a certain point, we had to leave to get to Richard Galloway's studio. See next entry</dcterms:description>

    <dcterms:subject>September 10, 2022 Mice</dcterms:subject>
<dcterms:description>Joseph came from Pest tech to change the poison in the mouse traps. We have had one (I hope) persistent mouse who comes to the pantry regularly. I put a trap on the counter in the pantry. In some way I feel badly about every time I walk into the pantry and see the trap, but not too badly. Ants for example, I hate ants in the house and when i see any on the kitchen counter I sweep them onto the floor and then step on them. Looking down at the ant scrambling to get away and knowing no matter how hard they try that I am a giant and they don't have a chance, it does give me a pang. The day started off badly. I was continuing to straighten up my studio and came across the photographs that I had installed at the Dutchess County Arts Council in Poughkeepsie. this was a site specific installation and the new head of Arts, Mid-Hudson decided to take them down, which pissed me off. I hadn't looked at the stack of mounted photographs until now and one of them was face to the velcro squares that were sued to hang them up and the photograph was ruined. Later in the afternoon when Joseph came he had to stand on a stool in one of my studios to get into a cabinet to refresh the poison in the trap. In his peripheral vision he saw what reasonably looked like a piece of wood attached to the wall. He went to steady himself on it and the ceramic sculpture, that looked like a piece of wood in perspective fell off the wall and broke. I was very upset, even though this was no fault of his. Upset because it had broken and at myself for not realizing that this could happen. I am also embarrassed that I was not nice enough to hime when it happened. he asked, hopefully, if it could be fixed and i said no and now it is worthless. He felt badly enough and then I made it worse. He was a very nice guy who on entering the studio noticed the drawings and other works and said he liked them very much. I spent the rest of the time he was here reassuring him and trying to make him fell better. I do not think I succeeded. Late on in the evening when I was still mourning the loss of the sculpture I realized I was less worked up about being very ill during the last two years (possibly because I didn't should of) which made me feel more reasonable about the sculpture. Joseph, if you ever read this, I don't blame you at all it was an accident that was unavoidable. If anyone is to blame (though probably not) I blame myself.</dcterms:description>
